THE WINE

The Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Garenne" from Domaine Moingeon is an elegant and finely sculpted Chardonnay that beautifully reflects one of Puligny-Montrachet's most prized Premier Cru vineyards. Perched on the higher slopes of the appellation, La Garenne is renowned for producing wines of exceptional tension, minerality, and finesse. Aromas of white peach, lemon zest, ripe pear, and acacia blossom are layered with delicate notes of toasted hazelnut, fresh brioche, crushed limestone, and flint. The palate is vibrant and beautifully textured, combining pure orchard fruit with crisp acidity and a striking chalky mineral core. Judicious oak ageing adds subtle richness and complexity while preserving the vineyard's precision and freshness. The finish is long, saline, and remarkably focused, revealing layers of citrus, white flowers, and wet stone. THE WINEMAKER

Domaine Moingeon is a family-owned estate based in Saint-Aubin, where generations of the Moingeon family have cultivated vineyards across some of the Côte de Beaune's most prestigious appellations, including Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Saint-Aubin. The estate combines sustainable vineyard management with meticulous hand harvesting and a restrained approach in the cellar, allowing each vineyard to express its individual character with clarity and precision. Gentle pressing, slow fermentations, and carefully judged ageing in French oak preserve freshness, purity, and mineral expression rather than masking them. The result is a portfolio of elegant, terroir-driven Burgundies recognised for their balance, precision, and outstanding ageing potential.
