THE WINEMAKER

Laurent Roumier founded his own domaine in 1991 after working alongside his brother, building an estate centered around traditional Burgundian values and a deep respect for terroir. Based in Chambolle-Musigny, he farms predominantly old vines and follows a natural approach in the vineyard, avoiding herbicides and fertilizers while prioritizing sustainable viticulture. Winemaking is deliberately traditional, with the goal of preserving purity, aromatic complexity, and a transparent expression of site. His wines are known for their finesse, balance, and classical style, combining the elegance associated with the Côte de Nuits with a genuine sense of place. The La Poirelotte cuvée, sourced from a small, distinctive vineyard parcel, exemplifies his commitment to crafting honest, terroir-driven Pinot Noir.
