THE WINE

The Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Cazetiers" 2023 from Remoissenet Père & Fils is a powerful yet remarkably refined Pinot Noir from one of Gevrey-Chambertin's most prestigious Premier Cru vineyards. Situated on steep, limestone-rich slopes adjacent to Clos Saint-Jacques, Les Cazetiers is renowned for producing wines of exceptional depth, structure, and longevity. Aromas of black cherry, wild raspberry, cassis, and violet are layered with notes of liquorice, sweet baking spice, forest floor, crushed stone, and a subtle hint of cedar. The palate is concentrated and beautifully poised, combining vibrant dark berry fruit with silky, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. A pronounced mineral backbone provides precision and energy, while restrained oak ageing enhances complexity without overshadowing the vineyard's purity.
