THE WINEMAKER

Laurent Roumier is a highly respected vigneron from one of Burgundy's most distinguished winemaking families. The grandson of Georges Roumier and cousin of Christophe Roumier, he established his own domaine in 1991 and has earned a reputation for producing wines that express elegance, purity, and terroir with remarkable consistency. The estate follows traditional viticulture with meticulous vineyard management, hand harvesting, and low yields to ensure optimal fruit quality. In the cellar, the grapes are fully destemmed, gently fermented in concrete vats, and matured for 15 to 18 months in French oak, with approximately 50% new barrels for Grand Cru wines. This restrained approach preserves the individuality of each vineyard while producing wines of exceptional balance, aromatic precision, and ageing potential. Laurent Roumier's wines are celebrated for combining classical Côte de Nuits structure with accessibility and finesse, making them among the most compelling expressions of modern Burgundy.
